Organic Bob is looking for passionate individuals that are organized, motivated, and detail oriented to expand the organization’s sales in the Twin Cities metro area of Minnesota. This is a part-time, seasonal position with flexible hours. Some evening and weekend availability is required to accommodate customers. Comprehensive paid training, an outstanding commission rate of 20%, additional base pay, and a supportive management team all make taking care of the environment enjoyable and value-driven. Plus — no cold calling! All leads have already expressed interest in Organic Bob’s services.

About Us

At Organic Bob we believe saving the earth starts in our own backyards. Our mission is to help people to use their yard to regenerate the environment and heal the earth. We provide organic lawn care using OMRI Organic certified products that are completely safe for people and animals. We also install predesigned native plant gardens as part of our commitment to help people restore the earth.

Available Region: SouthEast

Includes: St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights, Eagan, Rosemount, Apple Valley

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sales within a region of the metro area, including home visits and lawn assessments
  • Occasional flexibility in other regions within the metro area
  • Communicate Organic Bob mission and vision to all prospective customers
  • Manage all communication with customers throughout sales process
  • Manage customer care after the sale
  • Data entry (for sales)

Compensation and Benefits

  • 20% commission rate for all new customers in their first calendar year of lawn care services
  • 10% commission rate after first calendar year for all renewing customers in sales portfolio (if still an Organic Bob employee)
  • Limited Hourly Base Pay ($21) to help fill the gap between start date and paid commissions (20 hrs per week for any sales related work including driving to appointments, 200 hrs max)
  • All sales mileage expenses are reimbursed by Organic Bob (65.5 cents per mile)

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, follow through, and timely communication
  • Basic understanding of organic methods and soil biology is preferred, but not required
  • Eco-conscious; personal interest in organic methods and land restoration is preferred
  • Previous sales experience and/or customer service skills preferred, but not required
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (CRM) is preferred
  • Familiarity with Google Drive Professional Suite preferred, but not required

Requirements

  • Must have your own car, phone, computer, and access to internet (we provide a tablet for sales visits)
  • Requires a minimum of 16-20 hours per week May – Oct (we have some flexibility in the season start and end dates)
  • Available some nights and weekend days (make your schedule based on when customers are available)
  • Able to respond to customers within 1 business day

This is a seasonal position that reports to the Sales Manager. Hours dictated heavily by season and customer needs.

Create a healthier environment by contributing to a dynamic and passionate team of regenerative lawn care professionals. Organic Bob is looking for motivated individuals who like working outside and care about improving the urban environment to join our field crew! 

This is a part-time seasonal position with flexible hours. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work with others to apply a company-designed soil building blend of compost, organic fertilizer, and fescue grasses (must be able to regularly lift at least 35 pounds) 
  • Make and apply compost tea using a 5 gallon backpack sprayer 
  • Install gardens and other landscape features (no hardscaping) 
  • Remove and replace turf to increase the number of eco-friendly yards in the Twin Cities
  • Drive pickup trucks and trailers, operate lawn machinery, and use a variety of tools

Position Description

Create a healthier environment by contributing to a dynamic and passionate team of regenerative lawn care professionals. Organic Bob is looking for motivated individuals who like working outside and care about improving the urban environment to join our field crew! 

This is a part-time seasonal position.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Keep track of email correspondence: when a project is assigned and any project changes that may come up
  • Manage rental equipment for projects and keep the Operations Manager up-to-date via email on the dates/reservations made for projects
  • Proactively communicate with the Scheduling Coordinator: check for scheduled project start dates and coordinate the best time to complete projects
  • Make a site visit 2 weeks before a project starts in order to go over garden/landscape plan with the Project Manager
  • Order additional supplies in advance of a project, such as plants and materials
  • Ensure timely/correct delivery of supplies to the job site before and during a project
  • Coordinate the movement of  crew and vehicles to optimize efficiency
  • Look for opportunities to develop junior crew to be project leads in the future
  • Upload and report on all materials used, rentals, and workers’ hours on a daily/weekly basis
  • Report to the Sales Activist on any time & materials information within 24 hours of project completion (needed to allow for quick and accurate billing)
  • Maintain a profitability report on each project, to be updated and uploaded weekly

Qualifications:

  • Must have valid driver’s license and a working smartphone

  • Experience in planting, sod removal, soil prep, mulching, edging installation and general landscaping methods required
  • Experience and/or comfort operating different power equipment such as tillers, sod cutters, dump trailers, etc required
  • Experience and/ or comfort operating mini loaders, bobcats and attachments preferred
  • Experience supervising crew preferred
  • Knowledge of native plants, regenerative and sustainable methods preferred
  • Willingness to grow this emerging division through learning, respect of people, and caring for regenerative processes
